AND DROPPED

Hiromi Kawasaki mainly works on photography and also photographic objects to construct the time and space in the actual space and also in the image. To explore a potential in photography as a surface and material, she examines the form of representation in photography by adding some process such as layering, cutting, folding and drawing. Her previous work 'Twelve Constellations' (2008) is a sound piece of a musical score of constellations along with an instrument to play it. The score consists of a length of paper with holes marking the positions of stars, which passes through a music box, functioning in a similar way to an old piano-player.
